How do we keep the grand kids busy if they visit during the Thanksgiving holiday? Our children, Jeff 38 and Kim 40, like to stay home with their kids on Christmas. They prefer seeing the grand folks, us, around Thanksgiving. They like to go out at night,as they have the built in baby sitters; so we need to keep the kids busy. We found a cute craft you may like called "simple turkey day crafts" you can find at parents.com. Just wanted to pass this along to help you.
until it's bedtime.

Dad-
One of my favorite family activites is Mom's Chain of Thanks...it's truly a favorite way to celebrate our blessings.
For those who are not familiar...my Mom cuts out strips of construction paper...various colors (approx. 8-10" in length and approx. 1" wide). When we're sitting at the Thanksgiving Dinner Table Mom (before official blessing and food) passes out the paper and pens (depending on how many are at the table-one piece of paper for each-pens can be shared) and asks us all to write down 2-4 things we're thankful for this year. We all read them aloud and then create a chain...starting with Mom....she reads her "Thankful Notes", creates a loop from her paper strip with scotch tape and then the next person goes...reading their Thankful Notes, creating the loop linked to Mom's and we continue around the table. Everyone participates...the kids, grandparents, parents, etc. It's what Thanksgiving is all about.
Love, Kim
Mom hangs the Thanksgiving Chain on our Christmas Tree every year.
